Analyzing Auburn’s Depth Chart for Clemson

by on in

It was a solid effort from the Tiger’s in week one’s match up against the out-matched Georgia Southern Eagles. Everyone want’s the offense to have played better, but it was still a great effort. Don’t let your want for the Tiger’s to be perfect over shadow the effort that was put-forth on the field. For every mishap that Stidham had, he had 2 more perfect throws. Here is a video of highlights that is really neat.

Now let’s focus on Clemson

OFFENSE
QB
1. 8 JARRETT STIDHAM (6-3, 214, So.)
2. 13 Sean White (6-0, 211, Jr.)

RB
1. 36 KAMRYN PETTWAY (6-0, 235, Jr.) -OR-
2. 21 KERRYON JOHNSON (6-0, 212, Jr.)

HB
1. 27 CHANDLER COX (6-1, 219, Jr.)
2. 99 Spencer Nigh (6-0, 270, S0.) -OR-
2. 42 Keenan Sweeney (6-0, 237, Jr.)

TE
1. 85 JALEN HARRIS (6-4, 252, Jr.)
2. 86 Tucker Brown (6-3, 288, Jr.)
Thank goodness we didn’t see the Cox-cat. Solid effort from this our HB and TE groups, they each had a few impact blocks that sprung big plays.

WR (9/split end)
1. 81 DARRIUS SLAYTON (6-2, 190, So.) -OR-
1. 11 KYLE DAVIS (6-2, 213, So.)

WR (3/slot)
1. 3 NATE CRAIG-MYERS (6-2, 213, So.)
2. 80 Sal Cannella (6-5, 228, So.) -OR-
2. 17 Marquis McClain (6-2, 226, RFr.)

WR (5/big slot)
1. 12 ELI STOVE (6-0, 183, So.)
2. 19 Noah Igbinoghene (5-11, 186, Fr.)

We saw what Ryan Davis and Will Hastings can do. NCM wasn’t targeted and Kyle Davis was suspended. Darrius Slayton played okay, he had some drops and didn’t protect the football and led to a turnover, but we will chalk that up to rust like we are with everything else. This group needs to step up big time if Auburn wants to win on Saturday.

LT
1. 76 PRINCE TEGA WANOGHO (6-7, 301, So.)
2. 66 Bailey Sharp (6-5, 300, So.)

LG
1. 64 MIKE HORTON (6-4, 318, So.)
2. 77 Marquel Harrell (6-3, 308, So.)

C
1. 73 AUSTIN GOLSON (6-5, 312, Sr.)
2. 50 Casey Dunn (6-4, 292, Sr.)

RG
1. 71 BRADEN SMITH (6-6, 303, Sr.)
2. 74 Wilson Bell (6-5, 355, Sr.)

RT
1. 78 DARIUS JAMES (6-4, 324, Sr.)
2. 70 Calvin Ashley (6-6, 310, Fr.)

Watch how fast the line pulled to seal the edge for KJ. This is what the line needs to do for Auburn.

Braden Smith is a beast. I wasn’t too thrilled in the first 2 possessions with the run blocking, but it got better as the game went on. Stidham had plenty of time, in fact, I yelled at him a few times because he was holding on to the ball too long. I don’t think he heard me through the TV though.

DEFENSE
BUCK
1. 4 JEFF HOLLAND (6-2, 249, Jr.)
2. 10 Paul James III (6-3, 260, Jr.)
2. 55 TD Moultry (6-2, 240, Fr.)

DT
1. 95 DONTAVIUS RUSSELL (6-3, 310, Jr.)

1. 5 DERRICK BROWN (6-5, 316, So.)
2. 79 Andrew Williams (6-4, 286, Jr.)

DE
1. 3 MARLON DAVIDSON (6-3, 282, So.)
2. 91 Nick Coe (6-5, 270, RFr.) -OR-
2. 1 Big Kat Bryant (6-5, 224. Fr.)

SAM
1. 49 DARRELL WILLIAMS (6-2, 244, Jr.)
2. 51 Richard McBryde (6-1, 237, So.)

MIKE
1. 57 DESHAUN DAVIS (5-11, 246, Jr.)
2. 33 K.J. Britt (6-0, 239, Fr.) -OR-
2. 17 Chandler Wooten (6-2, 237, Fr.)

WILL
1. 30 TRE’ WILLIAMS (6-2, 186, Sr.)
2. 48 Montavious Atkinson (6-1, 218, Jr.)

This was all night from the defense. D-Line and Line backers had amazing games all together. We’ve written about how dominant the d-was against this triple option and it is seriously a big deal. Auburn will need to stand firm in these positions on Saturday. The Line and linebackers need to provide pressure to the QB to help the secondary.

CB
1. 13 JAVARIS DAVIS (5-10, 186, So.) -OR-
1. 12 JAMEL DEAN (6-2, 215, So.)
2. 22 John Broussard Jr. (5-11, 172, So.)

FS
1. 28 TRAY MATTHEWS (6-1, 209, Sr.)

SS
1. 14 STEPHEN ROBERTS (5-11, 189, Sr.)
2. 24 Daniel Thomas (5-11, 203, So.) -OR-
2. 25 Jason Smith (6-1, 186, Sr.)

CB
1. 6 CARLTON DAVIS (6-1, 203, Jr.)
2. 21 Travion Leonard (6-0, 191, Fr.)

NICKEL
1. 24 DANIEL THOMAS (5-11, 2013, Jr.) -OR-
1. 20 JEREMIAH DINSON (6-0, 186, So.)
2. 15 Jordan Peters (6-1, 185, Fr.)

The secondary wasn’t tested at all against Georgia Southern. I guess it’s good that they will have fresh legs, but that have a huge task ahead of them in clemson

SPECIAL TEAMS
PK
1. 38 DANIEL CARLSON (6-4, 223, Sr.)
2. 26 Anders Carlson (6-5, 200, Fr.) -OR-
2. 31 Sage Ledbetter (6-0, 181, RFr.)

P
1. 43 IAN SHANNON (6-3, 222, So.)
2. 41 Aidan Marshall (5-11, 163, Fr.) -OR-
2. 27 Tyler Stovall (6-0, 213, Sr.)

H
1. 29 TYLER STOVALL (6-0, 213, Sr.)

LS
1. 69 IKE POWELL (6-3, 267, Sr.)
2. 60 Bill Taylor (6-3, 227, Fr.)

PR
1. 14 STEPHEN ROBERTS (5-11, 189, Sr.)
2. 23 Ryan Davis (5-9, 175, Jr.)

KR
1. 21 KERRYON JOHNSON (6-0, 212, Jr.) -AND-
1. 13 JARAVIS DAVIS (5-10, 186, So.
2. 6 Devan Barrett (6-0, 185, Fr) -AND-
2. 19 Noah Igbinoghene (5-11, 186, Fr.)

I’m confident that the coaches will have the offense ready. The defense seems very confident and I think that bodes well. This will be a tough game, but Auburn will be ready for it.
