Ranking the SEC (after Championship Week)
Obviously there won't be too many changes between this week's rankings and last week's. Actually, there aren't any changes at all, but I did give some final thoughts on each team. Those are just awesome, so you should at least have a read.

1. LSU - Even with a mediocre-at-best offense, the Tigers still ended up dominating every opponent. When their defense isn't scoring points, they are giving their offense a short field. I don't have time to look up the stat, but I bet you at least half of LSU's points scored this year were on drives of less than 50 yards. I guess you don't have to dominate all aspects of the game, just as long as you are the best at one. Hmmm...that sounds familiar.
2. Alabama - They sat at home, did nothing, and still got in the Championship game. And I'm such an idiot for thinking that's a travesty to the game. Such an idiot homer barner, I am.
3. Arkansas - And this concludes the list of the really good teams in the SEC. The Razorbacks might actually jump to the absolute top tier next year, but don't we say that every year?
Ranking the SEC (after Week 13)
Who besides me realized that I didn't post any rankings last week? I'm blaming it on pre-Thanksgiving turkey and dressing haze. That, and it was a short week and the Iron Bowl was coming up, and... I just forgot, ok?! Anyway, here are my rankings leading in to the SEC Championship Game.

1. LSU - A little scare from Arkansas turned out to be nothing. Les Miles is due for a stupid loss, but haven't we been saying that for 4 or 5 years now?
2. Alabama - Second best team in the SEC? Sure. Second best team in the nation? Probably. Already had their shot and shouldn't be given another because we already know that LSU is better than them? Definitely.
3. Arkansas - The Razorbacks may be a spot or two higher than normal this year, but here they are again as the team that's just good enough to beat somebody, but not good enough to beat everybody.
Ranking the SEC (after Week 11)
For the first time since starting the poll after Week 8, there are some major moves in the rankings. And as you would expect, they aren't moves that I am happy to make, but they have to be done.

1. LSU - The Purple Tigers didn't look too impressive in the first half of their win against Western Kentucky, but does it really matter? They are the best team, somehow, in the SEC.
2. Alabama - Alabama looked less-than-stellar in their win over Mississippi State, but a field goal was made, so there's that. They'll stay here unless LSU loses or Auburn beats them.
3. Arkansas - Arkansas beat Tennessee and actually looked pretty dominant while doing so. They have a shot at beating LSU in two weeks, but will stay here even if they don't.
4. Georgia - Ok, I guess I have to move the Bulldogs up, don't I? I really don't think Georgia is that awesome. That's not sour grapes. I'm not trying to take anything away from them. They played a nearly perfect game, and Auburn played just the opposite. If you look at the Dawgs' entire resume, it's still pretty unimpressive.
Ranking the SEC (after Week 10)
As it was last week, there aren't many changes to the rankings this week. I guess that just means I'm always right. Yeah, I think that's what it is. Anyway, try to find something wrong with these. I dare you.

1. LSU - The obvious choice. They go into Tuscaloosa in front of their largest crowd ever, in the biggest game since dinosaurs roamed the Earth, and win. It was the biggest visiting team win in Bryant-Denny since, well, last year.
2. Alabama - A three-point loss to the #1 team in the nation isn't the worst thing that could happen, but the fact of the matter is that they lost at home. They had their chance. There should be no rematch, and unless LSU loses to Arkansas, the Tide will get no higher than this spot.
3. Arkansas - The Razorbacks did what we knew they would do by beating South Carolina. I still say they are only here by default, though. They have regressed since beating Auburn, and are only here because of their record.
Ranking the SEC (after Week 9)
After a week of unsurprising outcomes, the rankings don't have much of a different look this week. In fact, the top 5 are exactly the same. That doesn't mean you shouldn't at least read this, though.

1. LSU - With both the Purple Tigers and the Crimson Tide being off last week, there are no changes at the top. LSU has completely dominated entire games. Alabama has not. I'm still going off that.
2. Alabama - Obviously, this order will stay the same or switch depending on what happens Saturday.
3. Arkansas - The Razorbacks are pretty much here by default, but if you look at their schedule they could easily be in the jumbled mass below them. They very much so could have lost to Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and even Vandy last week, but they didn't. Hence they remain in the first spot below the two best teams in the history of the world.
Ranking the SEC (after Week 8)
I meant to start this last week, but I forgot, ok?! I'm also ditching the rest of the country and only ranking SEC teams this year. I mean, who cares about Big Twenelve football anyway?

1. LSU - At this point, they have played on the road, beaten, and dominated more than any team in the country, and I'm not just saying that because my butt is still sore from last Saturday.
2. Alabama - Yeah, they're good, but they haven't dominated full games like LSU has this season. Of course, these two teams' spots in the rankings will end up being set by the "SUPER BOWL TO END ALL WORLD HUNGER AND PROBLEMS FOREVER" on November 5th.
3. Arkansas - I hate when people say "It's LSU and Alabama, and then everybody else." Guess what... it's LSU and Alabama, and then everybody else. If Arkansas is the third best team in the conference after how they played at Ole Miss week... I mean, dang...
Ranking the Games on Auburn’s 2011 Schedule
Now that we are three weeks away from the first Thursday night football game of the season, I figured it was high time to start looking at some actual football. This was the first summer that I made a concerted effort to post something every day, and I didn't get them all, but I got most. I found that it wasn't as hard as I thought, but you definitely have to stretch to find things Auburn related to post about in the middle of July.
I plan on posting a bevy of previews, rankings, etc. throughout the next few weeks as we lead up to kickoff. Today I rank the games on Auburn's schedule in terms of importance to the whole season and where the Tigers might be at that point. Have at it...
12. Samford (11/19) - This is obviously the least difficult and the least compelling of the slate. That being a given could bring up the argument that this game is actually the most important. A loss to Samford would ruin anything else accomplished throughout the season. But we're going to ignore that argument.
(Sorry Coach Sullivan, no offense, but this is the Homecoming game and, well, that usually means pretty much nothing. Look on the bright side, though, you get to play Auburn in November, usually reserved for Amen Corner. Seriously though, I'm pulling for you in every other game.)
11. Florida Atlantic (09/24) - It was announced today that FAU coach, and stealer of the 1983 National Championship (with Miami), Howard Schnellenberger, would be retiring at the end of the season. I'm usually worried about stuff like this (remember Barry Alvarez and his Wisconsin team whooping us in his final game?), but in this case it doesn't matter, This game is nothing more than a warm-up for a brutal October.
WarBlogle.com Poll (after Week 14)
Dang, I forgot to post these yesterday. Like you care.

1. Auburn (1) - The best team in the nation. Hands down.
2. Oregon (2) - The Ducks have gone from the best team in the nation to "no way they can beat an SEC team". I like it.
3. Wisconsin (3) - You can't move if you didn't play and nobody else around you lost.
4. Stanford (4) - Ditto.
5. TCU (5) - Ditto.
