Week 12 Predictions: One More Time, Maybe
Well, I had a very 2020 week in Week 11. The close games didn’t go the way they were supposed to. That always hurts.
Last week: 3-4 (42.9%)
This week: 5-2 (71.4%)
Overall: 58-30 (65.9%)
The season should wrap up for most teams this week. Apparently they are playing four other games besides the SEC Championship Game next week. Meh, we’ll see.
12/12
Georgia at Missouri – Georgia isn’t playing for anything. Missouri has become that team that people are looking at because they are now only 5-3 and ranked #25. It seems like a bit of a toss-up, but Georgia has the better players and has found their quarterback.
Georgia 34, Missouri 21
Georgia 49, Missouri 14 – SUCCESS!
Alabama at Arkansas – The Tide only has to win this one to stay in the CFB Playoffs, which let’s be honest, they can lose this week, next week, and probably forfeit a previous game and they’ll put them in it. Arkansas has 3 wins. They are 3-6. But it was so fun to pretend they were really good earlier this season.
Alabama 45, Arkansas 13
Alabama 52, Arkansas 3 – SUCCESS!
Tennessee at Vanderbilt – Vanderbilt doesn’t have a coach. They could be the first team to go 0-9 in the SEC. Tennessee has lost 6 in a row. The Commodores will have the record. Vols win.
Tennessee 34, Vanderbilt 17
Tennessee 42, Vanderbilt 17 – SUCCESS!
LSU at Florida – Florida could lose this game, but then beat Alabama next week and it’ll be alright. LSU is collapsing from all directions. Florida could win with their 3rd string at this point.
Florida 51, LSU 14
LSU 37, Florida 34 – FAILURE
Ole Miss at Texas A&M – The Aggies need another game to prove themselves to the Playoff committee. This one is postponed, but they won’t get this one back. They’ve already scheduled Tennessee for them next week, and that’s it.
POSTPONED/CANCELLED
Auburn at Mississippi State – Check back later for the game preview, but SPOILER ALERT: does anybody in Starkville care anymore?
Auburn 31, Mississippi State 17
Auburn 24, Mississippi State 10 – SUCCESS!
Other Games of Note
North Carolina at Miami – The Hurricanes have one loss, but everybody has sorta forgotten about them. They are ranked #10. The Tarheels seemed like they were going to be pretty okay, and they are, but they have too many losses to be taken seriously. Miami wins a close one.
Miami 31, North Carolina 28
North Carolina 62, Miami 26 – FAILURE
USC at UCLA – USC is 4-0. WHY AREN’T THEY IN THE PLAYOFF TALK? Well, because they had to come back to beat two bad teams and this is the last game on their schedule. They’ll be a very weak 5-0. They probably cheated like they did in 2004, too.
USC 27, UCLA 21
USC 43, UCLA 38 – SUCCESS!
