Week 7 Predictions: Watching Others Lose

I missed one game in Week 6. Guess which one! I mean, this might be the best first half of a season ever for my picks, but that one hurt.

Last week: 6-1 (85.7%)
This week: 6-3 (66.7%)
Overall: 62-13 (82.7%)

Auburn has the week off so does it really matter? Well yeah, because at least half the teams are going to lose while Auburn will not… specifically Florida or LSU and Alabama or Texas A&M.

10/12

South Carolina at Georgia – There was a time when this was a nearly evenly matched game. Or at least when Georgia would be challenged by one of their SEC East foes. This is not one of those times.

Georgia 45, South Carolina 13

South Carolina 20, Georgia 17FAILURE

Mississippi State at Tennessee – Mississippi State should be able to win this one easily. But Tennessee might be excited about leading Georgia for a few minutes last week. And of course the Maroons are going to lose to make Auburn’s blowout over them mean nothing. Nah, not really.

Mississippi State 31, Tennessee 21

Tennessee 20, Mississippi State 10FAILURE

Alabama at Texas A&M – There was a time when this was a nearly evenly matched game. Or at least when Alabama would be challenged by one of their SEC West foes. This is not one of those times.

Alabama 38, Texas A&M 21

Alabama 47, Texas A&M 28SUCCESS!

UNLV at Vanderbilt – Wow, this is a weird one. Las Vegas college sends football team to play academic institution in Nashville. The Rebels aren’t good, so the ‘Dores will finally get their 2nd win of the season.

Vanderbilt 41, UNLV 28

UNLV 34, Vanderbilt 10FAILURE

Ole Miss at Missouri – Miss. vs. Miss. Isn’t that cute? I can’t believe I’m saying that a team that lost to Wyoming will beat Ole Miss easily, but Missouri will beat Ole Miss easily.

Missouri 38, Ole Miss 23

Missouri 38, Ole Miss 27SUCCESS!

Arkansas at Kentucky – Two of three worst teams in the SEC battle this one a few weeks before basketball season, which is all Big Blue Nation cares about right now. Remember, they lose to Auburn in the Elite Eight last season. Arkansas looked decent against Texas A&M, but they’re still a 2-win team at this point.

Kentucky 31, Arkansas 18

Kentucky 24, Arkansas 20SUCCESS!

Florida at LSU – Florida has a great defense and a so-so offense. LSU appears to have a great, but generally untested, offense and a so-so defense. This one is in Death Valley and Florida probably thinks they are better than they are after last week. But LSU always thinks they are better than they are, and especially Joe Burrow. I have to go with the home team, and not really close.

LSU 31, Florida 14

LSU 42, Florida 28SUCCESS!

Other Games of Note

Oklahoma at Texas – They think this is a big one. They always think this is a big one. It’s so big it’s always played at 11am so people can get to the Fair and/or go home. Big one.

Oklahoma 37, Texas 20

Oklahoma 34, Texas 27SUCCESS!

Florida State at Clemson – Made you look. Nobody cares about this one. Clemson is boring and overhyped and won’t be tested, which says nothing about them and everything about their conference. Florida State is bad.

Clemson 45, Florida State 10

Clemson 45, Florida State 14SUCCESS!

Now that you know who will win, head on over to the 2019 War Blogle Pick ’em and get your picks in. There will be weekly prizes and an overall winner at the end of the season. It’s easy. Do it.
