There were a few changes to the ranking this week. With lots of SEC matchups, including teams in the Top 10 of the national polls that pale in comparison to this one, you’ll have that. But everything you thought would happen, did happen, so it’s nothing too mindblowing. YOU’LL NEVER GUESS WHERE I HAVE AUBURN.
1. LSU (6-0)
I’m not entirely convinced that LSU is elite. I don’t care how well Brandon Harris throws his five passes a game with a defense fully loaded up for the run. Fournette is the best player, but one game he will get hurt or stopped or something and LSU will look like 2014 LSU. The defense isn’t THAT great, and let Florida with a backup quarterback score on them. But they are the only undefeated team in the SEC, so yeah.

2. Alabama (6-1)
It’s easy to get high on the Tide after a double digit win on the road at previously-unbeaten Texas A&M, but when 21 points came off of ridiculously terrible pick-sixes, it’s hard to tell how good they are without a record-breaking stat. The offense isn’t scary at all.

3. Florida (6-1)
Yes, I’m moving the Gators up a spot after losing on the road at Baton Rouge. It was only by a touchdown, and it’s really because of what the rest of the SEC looks like. Seriously, tell me who else should be here.

4. Texas A&M (5-1)
The Aggies looked lost for much of their loss to Alabama, but they still honestly had a chance even in the 4th quarter. A defense that can’t stop Alabama’s quarterback from scrambling isn’t anything to be ranked too highly, but at times their offense can score, when they aren’t throwing the ball to the other team.

5. Mississippi State (5-2)
I don’t know how good Mississippi State is at this point. They have the closest loss to LSU of anybody, but they beat Auburn by 8 points at their lowest point in the season. Since then, they’ve lost to Texas A&M and beaten lowly cupcakes. Who knows? We will soon.

6. Ole Miss (5-2)
Beating Alabama has been the worst thing for Ole Miss. Since then, they were blown out by Florida, struggled with Vandy, beat a cupcake, and then lost at Memphis. This isn’t the same offense or the same defense. Or maybe those units playing out of their minds for one game. I see the Rebels dropping a few more spots before it’s all said and done.

7. Auburn (4-2)
Auburn appeared to turn a corner on Thursday night in Lexington. The offense looked like they started to click and the coaching staff showed full trust in Sean White’s arm. The defense showed signs, but also still employs a dink-and-dunk attitude. It was enough to win on the road, though.

8. Georgia (5-2)
Without Nick Chubb, Georgia seems lost on offense. Three field goals against Missouri? This doesn’t look good for the DWAGS.

9. Tennessee (3-3)
The Vols beat Georgia and then had a week off to think about it. And then they saw Georgia only score 9 points against Missouri. Now they have to play Alabama. They’ll likely stay right here for a while unless something crazy happens in the biggest rivalry game in the world this weekend.

10. Missouri (4-3)
It only took three years, but we finally have the Missouri we all expected in the SEC. Maybe. You never know with the SEC East.

11. Kentucky (4-2)
I could have Kentucky a spot or two higher. I mean they stuck with juggernaut Auburn in a HUGE SEC road win for the Tigers. But really, they aren’t bad. Their quarterback can play. Their running back can run. They just still have a little bit of that Kentucky in them.

12. Arkansas (2-4)
The Hawgs only have two wins. I mean, I knew that. But they’re six games in, and they’ve won 1/3 of them. Maybe it’s a tad deceiving, but that’s Bert.

13. South Carolina (3-4)
The Gamecocks won the Battle of the Cellar last weekend. I mean, we knew South Carolina wasn’t great this season, but to only beat Vanderbilt by 9 means they are exactly where they need to be.
