Week 12 Predictions: The Nitty Gritty

We’re getting down to the nitty gritty, but it seems nobody told the schedule makers that. Auburn-Georgia is about all we have in terms of big games, but maybe I’m biased.

Right now my predictions are hitting at a 84.8% click. After going 14-0 last week, there’s no where else to go but down. It won’t happen, though, because we’re going like this <does that thing Gus does in postgame speeches where he makes his hand look like it’s an airplane>. If you would like to prove your worth with your picks and try to do better than my 48.9% accuracy against the spread, you can do so here. Make sure to do it today, there are two games on the slate tonight.

This Week: 12-1 (92.3%), ATS at PickOrPlay.com: 6-6 (50.0%)
EA NCAA 14: 5-8 (38.5%)
Last Week: 11-3 (78.6%), ATS at PickOrPlay.com: 5-7 (41.7%)
EA NCAA 14: 9-5 (64.3%)

Overall: 124-21 (85.5%), ATS at PickOrPlay.com: 56-60 (48.3%)
EA NCAA 14: 100-45 (69.0%)

11/16

Troy at Ole Miss (-28.5) – Troy is always formidable, but was blown out by Mississippi State earlier this year. Ole Miss didn’t destroy Arkansas last week. They will destroy Troy.

EA: Ole Miss 35, Troy 14 – SUCCESS!
WB: Ole Miss 45, Troy 7 – SUCCESS!

Ole Miss 51, Troy 21

Kentucky at Vanderbilt (-12.5) – Vanderbilt beating Florida by 17 equates to Vanderbilt beating Kentucky by around 35, right? I think so. You’re on your way to 7 wins Vandy. Great season! EA Sports is on crack.

EA: Kentucky 33, Vanderbilt 30 (OT) – FAILURE
WB: Vanderbilt 42. Kentucky 7 – SUCCESS!

Vanderbilt 22. Kentucky 6

Florida at South Carolina (-13) – You think Steve Spurrier feels sorry for Florida? You think Florida fans want him back? I say yes to both, although it won’t appear that way after South Carolina beats the Gators by a million. EA Sports hasn’t watched much football.

EA:  Florida 34, South Carolina 14 – FAILURE
WB: South Carolina 34, Florida 10 – SUCCESS!

South Carolina 19, Florida 14

Alabama (-25.5) at Mississippi State – Auburn fans, you want Alabama to be undefeated when they come to the Plains in two weeks. They will be undefeated when they come to the Plains in two weeks.

EA: Alabama 45, Mississippi State 24 – SUCCESS!
WB: Alabama 34, Mississippi State 10 SUCCESS!

Alabama 20, Mississippi State 7

Georgia at Auburn (-3.5) – Check my game preview tomorrow for my prediction of this game. EA Sports hasn’t given much credit to Auburn this year. They now hold 7 losses, but did give the 3-loss Dawgs all they wanted in this week’s simulation.

EA:  Georgia 27, Auburn 24 – FAILURE
WB: Auburn 38, Georgia 20 – SUCCESS!

Auburn 43, Georgia 38

And now for the national games to fill out the pick ’em slate…

Georgia Tech at Clemson (-11) (11/14) – For some reason, Clemson is still ranked ahead of Auburn in the two human polls of the BCS. Clemson’s biggest win came against Georgia in the first week of the season. They also lost a game by 37 points. They need to lose to just stop hovering around Auburn. They won’t lose this one, though.

EA: Clemson 31, Georgia Tech 14 – SUCCESS!
WB: Clemson 38, Georgia Tech 21 SUCCESS!

Clemson 55, Georgia Tech 31

Oklahoma State (-3) at Texas –  So it seems Texas has turned it around a little since their dreadful start. Oklahoma State is good, so has Texas improved enough to beat them? I say no. Don’t worry, Longhorn fans. Saban will return the favor to the Cowboys next season.

EA: Texas 31, Oklahoma State 12 – FAILURE
WB: Oklahoma State 34, Texas 21 – SUCCESS!

Oklahoma State 38, Texas 13

Miami (-3) at Duke This is actually a big game in the ACC. That’s all you need to know about the ACC. That’s all you need to know about why I think Florida State is overrated. Duke? Come on. Miami minus their star is still good enough to blowout the basketball-minded Blue Devils.

EA: Miami 35, Duke 16 – FAILURE
WB: Miami 31, Duke 14FAILURE

Duke 48, Miami 30

TCU at Kansas State (-10.5) – Kansas State as turned it on since their opening loss to North Dakota State. TCU is still showing us what they would have been like all those years had they played in a different conference. It’s tough playing big boy football all the time — isn’t it, boys?

EA: Kansas State 24, TCU 14 – SUCCESS!
WB: Kansas State 34, TCU 28 SUCCESS!

Kansas State 33, TCU 31

Utah at Oregon (-26.5) Utah has one Pac-12 win this season. It came against the supposed top-5 Stanford. Oregon will blow out the Utes putting the top-5 perception into a tailspin. Utah beat Stanford, who mostly dominated Oregon who blew out Utah. What does it all mean?!

EA: Oregon 40, Utah 3 – SUCCESS!
WB: Oregon 42, Utah 10SUCCESS!

Oregon 44, Utah 21

Texas Tech at Baylor (-27) – A few weeks ago I was hanging my hat on the Red Raiders getting Baylor out of all of this mess. Now Texas Tech is looking pretty rough. Thanks, Mr. Suave. Baylor big.

EA: Texas Tech 35, Baylor 28 – FAILURE
WB: Baylor 45, Texas Tech 28 – SUCCESS!

Baylor 63, Texas Tech 34

Stanford (-4) at USC – I go back and forth on Stanford. I wanted them to beat Oregon until they didn’t beat them bad enough to drop Oregon below Auburn. Now they have drawn my ire. I’ve mentioned before that since Orgeron took over at USC, I’ve kinda had their back. I don’t know why, but this week I’m on that Trojan train more than ever. Fight on. Beat the trees.

EA: Stanford 35, USC 28 – FAILURE
WB: USC 21, Stanford 20SUCCESS!

USC 20, Stanford 17

Houston at Louisville (-16)UCF beat Houston by 5 points. UCF beat Louisville by 3 points. By the laws of mathetical sciences, Louisville will beat Houston by 2 points… plus 21. EA Sports is on crack.

EA: Houston 35, Louisville 28 – FAILURE
WB: Louisville 41, Houston 20SUCCESS!

Louisville 20, Houston 13

Your OSU – Texas pick confusing… I feel like the blurb says you don’t think Texas is good enough to win…then you pick them to win. Shenanigans are afoot…

The OSU – TX pick by WB Must be a TYPO – It is the same score as EA Sports. I thinnk WB is picking OSU in this one…. I will say this – WB is consistent at pickimg winners… Looking forward to his AU picks in the next two games.

Man, I’m off today. I knew they beat Oregon State. I wrote about it in an earlier prediction this year. Oh well, fixed now.
