Highlights of Auburn’s 31-28 Win Over UL-Monroe

Auburn Athletics has begun posting a highlight video on their YouTube channel for each game this season. I have no idea how the Mississippi State one didn’t only last the length of McCalebb’s kickoff return. Anyway, now that we have a video that consists of Auburn scoring more points than the other team, I’ll post it.

Highlights?! Who are these people kidding? We witnessed a disaster yesterday. Sure. There were a couple of good plays. BUT the “body of work” was deplorable.

Stan, really? Are you ALL IN? ULM beat Arky’s defense. They are a HUGE surprise this season. I guarantee Baylor is watching film right now. There were more than a couple of good plays by Auburn against a better team than anyone imagined, and while we will have our hands full in 5+days, this AU team has promise. Naysayers need not apply.

Being ALL IN doesn’t mean we ignore the obvious. Auburn’s football program is in a free fall. Our defense can’t stop anyone with a pulse. Our quarterback has some good receivers but he can’t make a decision if there is anything resembling a defense on the other side of the ball.

With the quality of our recruiting classes under Coach Chizik there is no good excuse for why we are performing so poorly. Our coaches are apparently not getting it done regarding player development. Either that or a lack of player effort which I don’t accept. I’ve seen too many video interview with these guys and I believe they are hungry. I think the coaches are just not setting them up to win.

Sure. UL Monroe is a good team. But not compared to what Auburn football should be. Not even close. We needed a trick play, a hail Mary and an overtime field goal to win what should have been a 3-5 touchdown spanking. Times are bad. Big changes need to be made.

Don’t take my look on reality as an indicator of not being ALL IN. I tore my ACL last Saturday but decided to drive up from Orlando Friday night to encourage the team after a rather disheartening start to the season. I love my Tigers!

I think to say it was deplorable is a bit of a stretch. Even without the trick play and hail mary the score would have been the same but one play was a fumble and the other was called back for a terrible illegal motion penalty. We have the talent but most of that talent is freshman and sophomores. Everyone wants to say alabama and other top rated teams have young players but we are young at key positions(QB and offensive linemen). You can’t be young at both positions. I can’t put it all on the players either. The coaching has been deplorable up until the ULM game. I saw both sides focused on Saturday. I see your points and they are all valid. I guess I have a blue/orange type of view….lol!!!!…WAR EAGLE!!!!

“Deplorable” was probably a stretch. I’ll try to take a deep breath and see what happens on Saturday.

You blue/orange types are all alike. ;)
