College Football Live Remembers Cam’s Time at Auburn

Over the past few days, ESPN’s College Football Live has been counting down the greatest individual seasons in the modern era of college football. Due to what can only be attributed to huffing bath salts, they have Cam’s 2010 season as the 4th best. Really? 4th? I could maybe understand 2nd because people love Tebow and Herschel, but 4th? Anyway, this video is still pretty fun to watch, and it even includes a few words from our man Gene.

In a related note, ESPN blogger, and resident pastry expert, Chris Low, wrote some nice words about Cam’s 2010 season, and also gives you a chance to vote for the best individual season in SEC history. Naturally and correctly, Cam is leading that one, but vote anyway.

Read the comments on Low’s article. People are still bitter that AU won the national championship and that Cam Newton was eligible in 2010.

ESPN’s college football podcast had a short discussion on if Cam will be considered for the hall of fame. Tough to say what people will think by the time he is eligible.

I agree with Barry Sanders’ 1988 season being first on the list. I could see an argument for Walker, nah, nevermind, I can’t see an argument for Walker over Cam. Considering Cam shattered all of Tebow’s records three years after the fact, how can Tebow be above Cam. Oh, and consider that Tebow was 9-4 and lost to Michigan in the non-BCS bowl they played in. Cam led AU to 14-0 SEC/NC. It’s no contest. Frankly, the more I think about it, the more my Irish gets up. It was Joe Schad from ESPN who “broke” the Cam pay for play thing, they have a dog own this fight.
