A Few Very Eccentric Auburn Uniform Concepts

A few months ago, I posted some helmet concepts done by Charles Sollars. The responses ranged from love to hatred. Some people just slapped their mamas after seeing them. Sollars has since moved into the uniform realm and has designed concepts for all 32 NFL teams as well as dozens of college football teams. Yesterday, he posted fifteen uniform designs for our beloved Tigers.

Like I did with the helmets, let me remind you that these are in no way connected to Auburn. Auburn is not considering them. Auburn will probably never consider them. These are just one person’s ideas on some “different” Auburn uniforms. Don’t get your traditional panties in a wad.

Charles is a great artist, but not a well-informed one. He seems to think that our mascot is a bird.

When using photoshop, please constrain your proportions…

and no fullblock font? Really? I know they are “concepts”… but srsly.

Uniforms without the numbers on the front are just too far out there. I actually would love to have a special event uniform, but none of these blew me away. I also agree with the comment that says he thinks our mascot is a bird. Sorry Charlie

War Eagle anyway

So glad my alma mater would never consider these. Not even sure Oregon would go that far. All of them are hideous. Just hideous, especially the ones with the wings on the helmets.

These are cool to play around but not realistic, as you said, Blogle. Just personally and speaking in actual possibilities, I don’t see the point of anyone doing any “out-of-the-blue” Pro Combat or Under Armour whathaveyou uniform (eg Georgia 2011, Oregon 24/7). I do, however, see positive publicity in realistic (and well documented thanks to people like you) recreations of old uniforms. It respects the tradition, and in the process could make new ones. Do I like the NFL teams donning a new “retro” uni every other week? No, that ruins the fun.

I’m glad I ate supper before viewing these. Would have lost my appetite otherwise.

The helmets from the previous posts had merit…. everyone of these concepts are horrible….

Vomit!!! NO, I only want what we’ve had all these years! Our uniforms are classic and they still chill and thrill me!

The helmet wit the vintage “A” and eagle is okay……but that’s about it. Still love the traditional ones too much.

Exactly what Paul said.

Yuck, enough already.

Just because someone vomits orange and blue doesn’t mean it merits attention. If I see one more post about mock-up uniforms, I’m joining a pay site instead of coming here.

I love that this is the only comment you respond to, Blogle. Your sarcasm knows no bounds…

It would be great to see a special event uniform, especially for the Iron Bowl, but this is Auburn Football, not Anheuser Busch!
