Week 8 Predictions

This Week: 6-2
Overall: 45-27

10/18

Mississippi State at Tennessee – Predicted Neyland Stadium attendance: 24,512. Being used to playing in front of crowds this size, combined with Tennessee’s horrid offense, the Bulldogs pull out a close upset(?), saving Sylvester for one more year.

Mississippi State 16, Tennessee 13

Tennessee 34, Mississippi State 3 FAILURE

LSU at South Carolina – I’ve seen other sites predicting this to be a close one. I don’t see it. Yes, LSU just got blown out by Florida, and South Carolina has looked a lot better, but they still aren’t close. As much as I want Les Miles to be welcomed to the real world (his own recruits), I don’t see it happening in this one. But like I said, I really wouldn’t mind if I missed this pick.

LSU 28, South Carolina 10

LSU 24, South Carolina 17SUCCESS!

Arkansas at Kentucky – Arkansas! Really?! Dang it! Well I guess it’s not LA-Monroe. Anyway, the Hawgs looked decent last week against a depleted, tired Auburn defense (yes, these are excuses), and Kentucky’s D is good, as it showed against the unstoppable force known as…well we’ll just call ’em RTR #13. But Arkansas is still really bad, especially Dick’s interception ratio, (no, not the latest STD). I think this will be low scoring, mistake filled, and make our loss look even worse.

Kentucky 17, Arkansas 10

Kentucky 21, Arkansas 20SUCCESS!

Vanderbilt at Georgia -Another chance for our losses to look even worse. It seems that as bad as we’ve been, every team we have played has played their best game in years, besides LSU. Georgia is going to stomp the ‘Dores now that Vandy’s national championship hopes are out the window. You’re Vandy…shutup.

Georgia 41, Vanderbilt 10

Georgia 24, Vanderbilt 14 SUCCESS!

Ole Miss at Alabama If this game was in Oxford, I would almost guarantee a Rebel victory. Alabama absolutely refuses to play well against anybody not ranked in the top 10 (at the time, the Clemson game is not a top 10 win!). Ole Miss still isn’t hugely awesome like everyone wants them to be, but neither is Alabama. I see a close one with a field goal to win it…Go Rebels!

Ole Miss 17, Alabama 14

Alabama 24, Ole Miss 20 FAILURE

Other Games That Might Tickle Your Fancy

Ohio State at Michigan State – The Spartan faithful are going to be licking their chops at a rare chance to actually beating the Buckeyes, but I think Ohio State has gotten a tad better with Pryor back there.

Ohio State 27, Michigan State 17

Ohio State 45, Michigan State 7 SUCCESS!

Missouri at Texas – There’s really no reason Texas should lose again, and Missouri was exposed last week.

Texas 38, Missouri 21

Texas 56, Missouri 31 SUCCESS!

** Upset Special **

Cal at Arizona – I don’t know why I feel this, but I do. Maybe it’s because I’ve never liked Cal.

Arizona 20, Cal 14

Arizona 42, Cal 27 SUCCESS!…told you.

The Georgia-Vanderbilt game will be much closer than that. I promise IF Georgia wins it won’t be by more than 10 points.

I dont know why you would pick kentucky over arkansas. They beat us. I think the big game of the week is gonna be Missouri vs Texas but i dont agree with your pick. I think Missouri will pull it out but i dont thin they will lose by 17…come on!!! About the only pick i really agree with is Ole Miss Alabama…Ole Miss beat Florida and Florida is a good team…so I agree with that pick. I would like to know why you think these picks are legit…A for effort but D for accuracy.

I’m pretty sure you got the score wrong on the UGA-Vandy game.

Wow that was weird. I need to take the scoreboard’s advice and lay off the meth.

DUH! I knew Texas would win that game. They’re gonna go undefeated! Colt McCoy is the shiznits! I also wouldn’t be surprised if they played Ohio St in the National Championship game. Terrell Pryor is one of the best QBs in the country!
